title: "Welcome to opentez"
description: "The field handbook for the people who record the future of work and the leads who run the crews."

<span className="otz-eyebrow">Field handbook · Rev A</span>

You're joining a small group of people teaching robots how skilled work is really
done. You wear a phone on a headband, do real work with your hands, and upload clean
footage, and that footage becomes the ground truth a new kind of AI learns from.

This handbook has two halves. Read **[What we're building](/what-were-building)** first.
It's the same for everyone and explains why your care with the details is the whole
product. Then follow the playbook for your role.

<Info>
  New here? Start with **[What we're building](/what-were-building)**. It takes about
  five minutes and no background in AI is needed.

<Note>
  Not sure whether something is allowed, such as a task, a location, or a rejected clip? Ask your
  SPL or the opentez team **before** you record. We would much rather answer first than
  reject later.
