How to upload

Go to upload.opentez.com

Finish your session, then head to upload.opentez.com.

Upload the session's files

Upload the files from that session. These recordings are long and high-quality, so uploads can take an hour or more.

Use a reliable, uninterrupted connection

Start the upload on solid Wi-Fi (not cellular), plug your phone in, and don’t let the connection drop or the app close until it finishes. An interrupted upload may not go through.

Wait for confirmation

Payout only begins once the upload is confirmed as received. If you don’t see a confirmation, the file isn’t in. Try again before you delete anything.

Keep your consent records with the session

Submit any subject releases, location releases, or permitted Texas verbal-bystander records alongside the footage as instructed. Footage without its required consent record can’t be accepted.

How payment works

The opentez team reviews and annotates every clip that comes in. You are paid for the accepted footage delivered. Each deliverable is measured in qualifying footage-hours, which measure usable video rather than time worked or availability. Footage qualifies when:
Your hands are visible and you’re actively working,
There are no minors, faces without consent, or other PII in frame, and
The required consent is on file for anyone and any place shown.
Idle portions, out-of-frame stretches, and clips that break the privacy rules are excluded from the accepted deliverable. Review takes place after upload, and payment follows confirmation and acceptance.
If a clip is rejected, we’ll tell you why so your next session is stronger.

Your 20-second pre-upload checklist

Run this before every upload:
  • Headband on, hands in frame the whole time
  • Standard Video mode, decent light, clean lens
  • No minors, screens, badges, plates, documents, or other PII
  • Every visible adult is covered by a signed release or permitted Texas verbal consent
  • Consent on file for every person and private place shown
  • Active work throughout, with idle bits trimmed or cut
  • Uploaded on stable Wi-Fi at upload.opentez.com, confirmation received
Questions about a task, a rejected clip, or whether something is allowed? Ask your SPL or the opentez team before you record. We’d much rather answer first than reject later.
